Chapter 21
A few minutes before the conflict began at the pack territorial border, I made a change. I lined up with the other wolves facing enemy territory, where I could smell the warriors fighting for them. We awaited orders from Alpha and Beta to launch the assault. The very idea of them being my friends depressed me.
Since only Alphas are supposed to have crimson eyes, I did my best to keep them fixed on the floor, away from any potential witnesses. Before I went rogue, I was an Alpha Bloodline, but I've done my best to keep that fact a secret. I did not want questions about them at all.
Because of my white fur, I believe some wolves have already taken note of my eyes.
