Chapter 24
Upon hearing the hostile growl, the wolf, whose teeth bit into my throat, unlatched and turned its gaze toward the source of the familiar sound. It hurt to even tilt my head in the direction of the sound, what with the wolf's weight still pressing down on me and the stinging soreness in my throat.
When I eventually turned around, the wolf on top of me had leaped off and was heading toward the other wolf, which turned out to be a white wolf with crimson eyes.
Even with Amber here to aid me, she may have trouble dealing with so many wolves when only she and I are in the mix. Oh, God, please protect her from harm as she battles them.
