Amber's POV

I stepped up to the fairy tale house from my childhood fantasies. I found it overgrown with vines and other types of vegetation that were only sometimes present, but it has been quite some time already, so it makes sense. Having a conversation with her right now is sure to be an exciting adventure.

I was able to verify that she was present by relying on my hearing; after all, to hell with it, I'm just going to go for it. I approached the door made of pine and knocked twice before entering. Nothing was heard.

Soon enough, the door opened on its own with a squeak, menacingly displaying the interior of the house in which I had spent hours as a child. The house was still the same as I remembered it, but for an older woman like her, it was remarkably modern.
