Chapter 8
Remaining still, Lucy stared at the dawn through her window. It was maybe a little past six in the morning, and she hadn't managed to close her eyes the whole night. Her phone rested beside her, waiting for Ryeon's call or message, but all that remained was silence, uncertainty about what they would do about everything.
She took a deep breath, turning in bed, gazing at the wall. She should be in his arms or feeling him cuddle close, but thanks to her confusion, maybe they would never be like that again.
She waited until eight before getting up. She checked her phone, going through messages, seeing that Ryeon hadn't even been online. She bathed, brushed her teeth, and combed her hair, all the while not being able to stop thinking about him for a single second.
The smell of fresh, warm coffee wafted upstairs and into her room, making her smile briefly. She put on her slippers and went downstairs, finding her parents, with Sun-ha standing upright, unsup
