Chapter 24
As they drove, Ryeon felt the tense atmosphere in the car. Lucy, sitting beside him, remained silent in complete silence since they left home. Jaesun, in the backseat, even huffed and slammed the door shut when he got into the car, but then he grabbed his phone and remained that way.
It was uncomfortable because Ryeon knew that the way Lucy's mother treated her hurt her deeply. He didn't understand why the woman had to be so cruel, but he didn't want to see his girl in that state. So, as soon as he shifted gears, he shamelessly slid his hand over and, finding hers, entwined their fingers.
Lucy looked at it and paid attention. She looked into Ryeon's eyes and sighed, giving him a beautiful smile.
"Mark said he's already there," Jaesun said. "He said there are already a lot of people."
"I just hope we can find a parking spot near the entrance," Ryeon said.
"Do you think people will stare at us?" Lucy asked, still holding Ryeon's hand.
