“What the hell is wrong with you!” Alexander shouted as he hauled me into his arms, practically snatching me out of Daniel’s grip.

“What is wrong with me? What is wrong with you, Alexander! You knew perfectly well that Laila despises her, yet you still assigned her to Laila for conditioning. Are you completely out of your mind? Have we not all witnessed the countless times Laila has openly flaunted her hatred toward her? Everyone in this territory knows it, yet you, as her fated mate, act entirely oblivious to the facts!” Daniel barked back with equal intensity.

“You dare raise your voice to your Alpha King?!” Alexander’s voice dropped into a dangerously low, gravelly frequency, projecting a wave of dominant command that forced Daniel to his knees on the grass in involuntary submission.
