Chapter 17

Cassia and Thorn were silent the whole way home. The two of them said nothing while Thorn drove his Porsche Panamera home. She left the car used to go to the restaurant with her friend Phoenix, who promised to deliver it to Bachelor's Village after her husband's restaurant closed.

Cassia was expecting Thorn to demand an explanation for what happened, but he said nothing. He just thanked the Martinez couple, then took his hand that didn't hurt and led him out of the restaurant. His hold wasn't rough, but it wasn't soft either. It was firm, but unlike David, it was not painful.

When Cassia saw how mad Thorn was when he arrived, she was scared. Even in those moments, she was still afraid of his silence and the occasional chattering of his jaw while driving.

Cassia glanced at her husband, and for some unknown reason, she remembered what her friend had said.

'Did it ever cross your mind that your husband might not be gay? '
