"Excuse me," Cassia immediately said to David, then leaned slightly to answer the call, "yes?"

"It should be 'yes, hon?"

Cassia bit her lower lip and said, "Yes, hon?"

Thorn on the other line smiled. "I'm just going to ask, what do you want for dinner?"

"Dinner?" she turned to David, remembering what he said: "Ahm, I can't. We have a dinner meeting later."

"Oh." Thorn sounded disappointed. "Are you going home late?"

"Maybe."

"Can I pick you up?" then Thorn asked, "I don't feel comfortable sending you home alone if you come home late."

That made Cassia smile. "Will you pick me up? Alright. I'll send you the address of the restaurant later." He also didn't want to travel alone at night, so he immediately agreed.
