Chapter 37. When The Cat Is Away... (1)
It was a rather frustrating evening. The dim light illuminating Jethro’s face intensified the bleakness in his life.
His fingers had been tired out from constantly dialing numbers on his phone. No one was picking up his calls, and the dull passage of time brought him closer to the edge of his patience.
Reaching the highest point of irritation, he threw his phone on the bed and drank cold water to put out the fiery vexation he felt in his heart.
He should be focusing his mind on reviewing academic studies, but here he was, pacing in his room in circles and couldn’t concentrate.
He sat down before the study table again and grabbed a book. He tried to read, but the letters just passed through his eyes, and nothing stuck to his mind. His focus kept drifting somewhere else, so he closed the book and put it away.
