Chapter 49. The Truth

Sunny’s POV

“Their cordon bleau tastes fantastic, right?” Jared asked me while we were walking outside the mall.

I smiled. “Yeah, and I also liked the tiramisu.”

“You’re right. Where do you want to go next, by the way?”

“Hmm. I think I know a cable car near here. Would you like to try riding it?”

“Really? Sure! Let’s go!”

“Okay! Hahaha!”

We started walking again. I was glancing at Jared all the time. That’s why I didn’t notice that there was a car coming my way. “Sunny!”

“Huh?”

Jared immediately pulled me close to him. “Are you alright?”

“Y-yeah. T-Thanks.”

“Here. Walk on this side.” He said as he pulled me to his other side. “It’s safer there.”

I smiled at him. “Uhm.”

“I will protect you no matter what happens, Sunny.” 

“Thank you… By the way, Jared. Can I go to the powder room for a while?”

“Sure. I ‘ll wait for you there.” He said as he pointed to a nearby bench.

I nodded. “Okay.”
