Chapter 40
Cassa held Lukas’ hand tightly, causing Debbie to focus on Cassa’s unusual grip on Lukas as if she intended to take the child away. Debbie smiled at the closeness between the child and his mother in front of her. Debbie’s calm face did not show that she desired Lukas.
“Cassa, it seems like you’re holding Lukas too tight. Isn’t that a problem? Lukas must be in pain because you’re holding him too firmly,” Debbie warned Cassa not to hold Lukas too tightly.
This morning, after hearing the conversation between Debbie and the person she called, Cassa became very wary of the people around her. Cassa realized when she heard the reprimand from her sister and began to loosen her grip on Lukas. Pretending to not know what was happening was one way for the two of them to leave Debbie’s house.
“Hahaha, just pay attention. I often hold Lukas like this because he almost falls a few times. His legs are still not stable for walking,” Cassa explained, of course, it was a good thing
