I could not move. He quickly paralyzed my whole body.
If only the wall I was leaning could turn upside down, I would do just to avoid his sticky and dim stares.
“Rex, you were joking, right?” I hesitantly looked at him and inhaled sharply.
“No, I am not. Your eyes said you were feeling it too,” he replied. His voice was low and husky.
My shoulders shook in silent laughter, trying to slice the tension between us.
“This is hypothetically absurd.”
But his face was more serious as he lifted me off my feet. I didn’t stop. I grabbed his shirt to steal some strength. I seemed to have forgotten how to breathe because there was no distance separating us.
