I frantically bit my fingernails as my nerves wracked to a frightening level. I was nervous as hell. My little plan had backfired on me.

I should have known the officer was not to be trusted. He was one of Alessandro’s boys. I shouldn’t have called the police in the first place. Why did I even listen to Leonard? I was in chaos now.
