Chapter 11. The Secret

Elsie's POV

Oris and I walked either side of Gracie, holding a hand each and we would swing her on her command. The further we approached the ice cream parlour, the more swings Gracie required.

"It's a beautiful day," I said, taking my eyes to Oris as I smiled at him.

"Extremely beautiful," Oris said, his eyes on me and I had a feeling he wasn't referring to the weather now.

My cheeks warmed from his compliment, and I felt as though I needed this ice cream as soon as possible, just to cool me down.

Eventually, we reached the parlour. It was busy, everyone else had the same idea and were clambering to see the menu above the ordering counter.

"Take Gracie outside," Oris said, gesturing he directed toward the tables out the back of the parlour "Gracie can play out there and I'll order us some ice cream,"
