Chapter 49. The Comfort of Her Mates

Elsie's POV

"Elsie,"

The soft voice echoed in my mind, and even though everything was in darkness, I felt peace. As though I had slept for years and was finally coming round to consciousness.

"Elsie, can you hear me?" the familiar soft voice echoed again "Please say something, I'm worried!"

Darkness still enveloped me, but I started to catch a strip of soft light across the horizon of my vision. A slit so narrow, but gradually widening the more I focused on it. Was this the light at the end of the tunnel that people spoke about seeing when you die? Strange enough, I didn't feel scared.

"Elsie!"

Was I dead? Had I died by Rory's hand? The last thing I remembered was a fuzzy memory of Theo rescuing me. Scooping me up into his arms and taking me out of the Autumn Pack house. But as we had reached the front door and crossed the threshold, I had released my fears and must have passed out.
