Chapter 84. Our Anniversary

Elsie's POV

I was an intelligent woman, and of course I knew I shouldn't have accepted Rory's offer of meeting him, especially on such a traumatic occasion, our anniversary. So many small details of mine and Rory's time together had been forced from my mind, including a date I didn't wish to remember. A celebration of our first date.

The date today had meant little to me, I had completely forgotten it would have been such a great occasion for us, provided we were still together. But a big part of me ignored my head and followed my heart. Purely on the possibility of having some unanswered questions brought to light.

The note had been specific on where Rory wanted me to meet him, and I still recalled the spot down by the river like it was yesterday. I had showered, styled my hair and made myself look attractive for Rory, hoping his approval on my looks would make this easier for me.

I had chosen a dress from my wardrobe I knew Rory wou
