Kendra’s POV

When I came to life, I was wearing an oxygen mask. I saw bright lights and people wearing lab gowns.

I understood where I am right now. I roamed my eyes and when I confirmed my husband was nowhere near, I grabbed the doctor’s arm and whispered,

“I-I’m p-pregnant. P-please, save…my baby. The husband, must not-know. Divorce. Please!”

And again, I fell asleep.

A FEW MOMENTS LATER

The second time I woke up, I gathered I was already inside the room. The pain in my lower abdomen was gone. So I panicked and touched my baby. I was afraid my little pain would be gone, so I pushed the distress button multiple times.
