Chapter 14. Quarrel
As soon as Devis left, Nancy nudged Primrose on the shoulder and went with her to the company cafeteria. Primrose spoke briefly of her conversation with Devis, then patted her head wearily.
"So, did Joel say anything yesterday?"
Nancy was sitting next to Primrose, so it was clear how angry Joel was to see Devis so close to Primrose. According to her, they must have had a quarrel when they got home.
"As you're thinking, he accused me of adultery. I protested and left angrily, going to work early this morning so I wouldn't have to see his face."
Nancy also had to scribble, suddenly not knowing how to advise. Although the confession can be misleading, Joel did not listen to Primrose's explanation and quickly came to a conclusion that was tyrannical.
