When I came back, I was surprised to see that she had used the big leaves as plates and two hard leaves to use as spoons.
Oh, how I could get used to the idea of coming home every day and sharing dinner with her like that.
We sat down to eat, but as she nibbled at her food, I could sense her displeasure. "Why are you not eating?" I inquired gently.
"I didn't like it. If you want, you can have mine too," she replied her tone a mix of defiance and discomfort.
"It's important to eat, especially in a situation like this," I insisted, trying to mask my concern with a calm demeanor.
As she continued to resist, I decided to lighten the mood with a story. I recounted the anecdote, watching her smile in amusement. Her laughter was infectious, and for a moment, I forgot our predicament. But beneath the surface, I couldn't ignore the growing attraction I felt towards her.
