Chapter 25. On My Way to My New Life

Everything about the wedding day, including the reception, was beautiful. However, what happened in Vegas remained in Vegas and didn’t concern us.

We boarded his private jet for England first thing in the morning while still being deathly sleep deprived. I did not know that being married to the wealthiest man on the planet wouldn’t be a secret for very long.

While Vincent worked, I slept the entire journey back to London. In his eagerness to return to work, we had simply purchased croissants and coffee for breakfast. Our story was already traveling as the plane landed, and I could clearly tell that, if it hadn’t already, it would eventually reach folks I knew. Mara had a huge, loud mouth.

We somehow snuck up to the car where Vincent’s driver was already waiting for us.

“Tiara, keep your head down!” Vincent yelled as we sped into the car.

“Why? Is something wrong?”

“Paparazzi!” he said briefly, fixing me with his predator gaze.
