Tiara POV

That Mrs. Hans had guts; I knew it very well. But the way she said it, although I didn’t think it would bother me in any way, made it worse than I imagined.

My face grew scarlet. Everyone was aware of that, so she would undoubtedly know that. She was the only person I knew who would be so impolite as to address it in front of me.

But my words got stuck in my throat.

“Admitted to cheating?”

“No. But he betrayed my confidence.” I hurried to say like I wanted to somehow save his manhood.

Mrs. Hans uttered a really expressive noise.

“Obviously. That is how males operate.”

I moaned. I didn’t need advice on how to live my life from a woman who once instructed me to breathe more subtly when I had pneumonia.
