Chapter 13
Faith’s POV
I gasped when I saw him lying on the sofa. He was slightly hunched and looked a bit unsteady. I approached him and sat down. I held his arm, but I was startled when I felt the heat emanating from his body.
“Y-you have a fever.” I panicked. “I’ll get you some medicine.” I was about to stand up when he suddenly grabbed my hand and pulled me toward him. He hugged me, and I felt his arm wrapped around my waist.
“Much better,” he whispered. I didn’t move; I just let us stay like that.
“You need to take medicine.” I touched his forehead and cheek. He closed his eyes, and I knew his head hurt. It was evident, given his irritated state.
“Later, just stay here,” he asked me.
I didn’t move.
I was worried about him. It was my fault. If I had come in earlier and apologized, I might have known that he wasn’t feeling well.
I felt guilty.
