Carla's POV 

As the evening continues, I spend more time with Eugene and Carter, discussing the upcoming trip and making plans. Carter assures me that everything will be kept low-key and discreet so that Julie won't suspect a thing. We decided to tell her that I'll be away on a photography assignment during the time of the trip.

Later that night, instead of going back to Julie's place, I head over to Cara's room. She's always been like a confidante to me, and I know I can trust her with my worries.

"Hey, Carla! What brings you here at this hour?" Cara opens the door with a curious look. 

 "Cara, I need your help. You know how I told you about that photography assignment I'm working on?" I step inside and sit on her bed, feeling the weight of the secret I'm about to share.

 "Yeah, the one that's taking you out of town for a while." Cara nods, her eyes full of understanding.

 "Well, that's not entirely true.
