Carla's POV 

I take a moment to observe her closely as we settle down at the table. There's a flicker of excitement in her eyes that makes me uneasy. Is she up to something? But I remain composed and follow her lead. I watch as she serves us both, ensuring that the portions are identical.

As we begin to eat, Julie strikes up a conversation, seemingly casual but with an underlying tension. I can't help but feel like she's probing me, trying to extract information. I tread carefully, choosing my words wisely.

"So, Julie, how was your day? Anything interesting happen?" I ask, trying to divert her attention away from me.

She pauses, seemingly caught off guard by the question. Her eyes darted around, and for a moment, I think I've caught her off balance. But just as quickly, she regains her composure and smiles.

"Oh, you know, the usual. Nothing too exciting," she replies casually. "What about you? How's everything going with your job?
