Carter's POV

We gave each other a hug and a brotherly kiss, he didn't want to let me go but I had to, I had a whole list of things to do, so I went towards my car with him following beside me.

"I'll see you soon, bro." I told him as I reversed to drive away, while he waved at me.

I drove to the airport, then I pulled up my phone from my bag. I tapped on Carla's last call, I can guess how worried she would be after I listened to her questions and then ending the call without saying a word, anger and curiosity will both rally round her but I didn't really care about how she felt or what she would do, all that mattered was what was on my mind.

She picked the call. She expected apologies but I had nothing to give. "Carla, I'm getting to see a friend of mine in another state. I'm going from here and I'd be spending two days there. I'm so depressed, I need somewhere new and more fun to be."
