Carter's POV

This call cascaded a lot of anxiety on me. I was restless, I wasn’t expecting something like this. I decided to click on the accept button. It better be that she’s not going to say anything to the plan I had in mind about her, I wanted to send her out of the estate to live her independent life alone.

“Hello?” I uttered in a hoarse voice. This I did to scare her, I wanted to hide my fear with a tough voice. 

“Carter, where are you?” This question coupled with her tone made me believe something is wrong, my eyes grew dim as what she just said re-echoed in my head.

“I came to your apartment and asked for you, I found only Carla.” If she could talk without calling anyone hurtful names, then there was something she was up to, she has never behaved this formal before.”

“Before I answer your question about where I am, what did you go to do in my apartment? Is there any problem?”
