I leaned on my office chair, staring at the files on the desk, even though my thoughts were rotating around Eliana. I wanted so much to believe that her mother was spying on her for security reasons. A part of me, however, wanted so badly to get to the bottom of it all because something about Nora screamed secrets.

"Rough night?" Allan walked into my office as usual without knocking. I had barely slept, tossing and turning and thinking about Eliana and her safety in Rachel's place. My security personnel had informed me that she had driven with her friends home, packed for a few minutes, then left for Rachel's place.

"Something like that." I shifted on the swivel chair, tempted to call Eliana even though I knew she was at school.

"Wanna talk about it?" Allan pulled the opposite chair and sat on it, then raised his brows, waiting.

"Eliana thinks her mother is spying on her." I went straight to the point, straightening up.
