Chapter 70. Better than Shakespeare

“I’ve never loved anyone like I love Eliana.” His voice was firm, his eyes showed how deeply true those words were.
I would have sworn Scott would keep mute, and would refuse to bend to my mother’s coercion. My chest swelled with pride and joy.
“I want more than what we have now, I know she does too. I want to spend the rest of my life loving her. Together, we’ll find a way.”
To me, none of Shakespeare’s words could ever surpass these words Scott said. I need poetry like Shakespeare’s, I need sincerity, words true from the depth of the heart.
I was frozen in time, obvious to what went on around me. I stared dreamily at the man I now called mine.
Although he had promised to support me, his actions earlier confirmed otherwise but his declaration of love was a motivation to go forward with the plan and maybe find a better way to let the world know about us.
