Chapter 82. Perfect Timing

“I’m not a kid, Scott.”
I had heard that statement like a thousand times in the past week.
“I know you’re not. That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t accompany you to school.” I assured her, giving her a gentle kiss on her lips.
There was no such thing as extreme when it comes to Eliana’s safety. I had made certain she did nothing on our own. I didn’t fancy leaving her alone. To ensure she was never out of sight, she had a special spot in my office.
I could look at her, confirm she was fine and go on with work. She wasn’t happy about it. Eliana had a mind of her own and sometimes, it tells her to do foolish and risky things. Not on my watch.
How long did I think I could keep up with that? She tried getting me to quit by bringing up what people might think.
“They can think whatever they want. I don’t care.”
