The view of the streets through the window was quite boring, exactly what I needed. It was time to leave but I couldn’t bring myself to accept it. Something was off, wrong.
The pain I had felt in my chest when I first heard the news about Eliana’s attack, seemed like it would never go away. Merely recalling that day brings the pain back.
What if we had headed for London immediately after that phone call? My girl was trying to say something but I didn’t act like I should have.
“What are you thinking about darling?”
I slowly turned to the sound of Jackson’s voice. He looked handsome. His thick hair brushed backwards with a few rebels falling on his forehead.
“Nothing.” I breathed, resting my hip on the apron.
“You’re not dressed, baby.”
“Don’t call me that. Not here.”
What if someone heard him? Jackson had never been one to care. Left to him, the world would have found out about us already… Eliana would have.
