“This wasn’t part of the plan,” Sebastian remarked, staring at the bound Stacey.
“It is. It was all her idea.”
“You think they’ll believe you?” He glanced at the crazy woman and then back at me.
“They don’t have to believe me. They will believe the evidence,” I said sternly.
“Did—”
“One more word from you, Sebastian. I swear, just one more word.” Every word was spelled out with warning. My nose flared; my eyes were focused.
Yes, this probably wasn’t the best idea, but it worked.
“Look, I informed the police department about her being here. You know that.”
He nodded slightly. “Yeah, I’m just pulling your leg. I know you’re going to say, ‘I’m cutting your bonus next month.’ Don’t worry, I know you won’t.”
