Chapter 99. Creepy Adkins

The air was cool, a little warmer than it was in London. Everything was so perfect. It still felt unreal. Scott had made all the arrangements, packing both our bags and being such a wonderful travel companion as well as husband.
At the deck, I sat on the steps leading to the water, enjoying the scenery. Light illuminated through the glass walls of each villa. Absently, I dipped my feet into the water, letting the coolness caress my skin.
“What’s on your mind?” His voice came from behind me.
“Nothing, I’m just enjoying the view. Everything seems so perfect. Thank you.”
Scott quietly sat next to me, his feet deep in the water.
“Don’t thank me, wife. I should be the one thanking you.” His voice was calm and gentle, yet serious. His gaze was intense.
I couldn’t seem to stop myself from laughing. I mean, he made all of this possible in every way. I didn’t get it.
“For what?” I studied his face, wondering what his response was
