Staring out the window, I took in the view of each building, signs—everything. I would miss Houston, but London was home now. Scott did not know about my plans of returning so soon. My heart fluttered just imagining Scott’s reaction and how we were going to spend our little time together. There was nothing wrong with me wanting a little bit of the honeymoon I didn’t have before I have to return to Houston again.
Susie was quiet. We both didn’t have much to say. The last thing I wanted to do was talk about my relationship in a car filled with employees. We got to the airport and I was just too excited to get to the gate.
“Take care of yourself, honey.”
“I will. Take care of yourself, Susie,” I said with a smile.
