Chapter 88. The Kidnapping

Jake’s POV

I was in my office going through some files when I heard a knock on my door and when I ordered the person to enter, Ava walked in.

“Hey Father.” she bowed and then walked close to my table smiling.

“Happy birthday!” she brought a gift out and handed it to me.

I was surprised. I hadn’t expected her to remember my birthday, let alone get me a gift. I unwrapped it slowly, savoring the moment.

As I opened the gift, I saw that it was a framed photo of the three of us. She edited the picture and added all of us together as one big family.

“I want you and Mum to be together forever, we should be a happy family and not just stay together to take care of me, but I want you two to be happy,” Ava said with a smile on her face.

I smiled back, “ How did I get such a mature and smart little girl as my daughter?”

Ava laughed and said, “It’s all thanks to Mum. She had always been there for me, even when things were tough. She has tau
