“What the fuck, you wh–” I start saying to the annoying female shifter form in front of me, but then I catch a glimpse of Rose slipping to the floor.

Eli is fast enough to catch her before she hits the ground. I shove Emily to the side, and she falls to the floor with a little scream. I know I didn’t push her that hard, and this is all her overacting. I actually wish I had put my back into shoving her.

“Oh, Marky. I think I hurt my ankle,” she cries after me as I rush toward Rose.

The other Alphas are right behind me. We all crouch beside her as she lies in Eli’s arms.

“Is she okay?” I ask Eli.

He raises his eyes to me. They seem to be shooting invisible arrows into my face. “Does she look okay?” he utters.

This is all my fault. I wanted to get information from Emily, but maybe there was a better way to do that.

“Did she hear what Emily said?” I ask.

“She’s pregnant, not deaf, bro,” Tristan spits sarcastical
