Chapter 111. You’re My Best Friend

“I’ll be back.”

When I stepped out of the car, I let out a deep breath. I rubbed a hand over my tired eyes and made my way over to the trunk of the car.

I grabbed the bags and began carrying them over to the large house. Furthermore, I glanced down at the keypad, pressing the numbers that were engraved into it, causing the lock on the trunk to click open. Furthermore, I set the bags down on the concrete ground and climbed back into the car.

Not only that, but I put the car into reverse and drove out of the driveway. Furthermore, I backed up slowly, checking all the mirrors to check for cars following me. Once I made it safely out of the parking lot, I sped up, driving out of the neighborhood.

Once I reached the highway, I slowed down and continued driving. I kept glancing over at the side mirror to check for any signs of pursuit, but every time I checked I saw nothing, except for my car speeding away from me.
