Chapter 90. Please Forgive Me

I woke up the next morning and yawned as I stretched my arms. I reached for my phone which was resting on the nightstand before opening the messaging app.

My eyes widened slightly when I saw the message from Jake. I smiled to myself. A small part of me wished that Jake would come into my room at this very minute, wrap his arms around me and pull me into his embrace.

However, the reality was that I knew that Jake probably wouldn’t be able to come over here today, since his dad wanted to talk to him alone. Still, I could never help but hope that he could sneak in, just to see how I was and whether I’m fine.

The sound of a knock came echoing in my room. I blinked before looking over to Jake’s bedside table and reaching out for my phone. I unlocked it and glanced at the screen. It read,
