Chapter 14. The Threats
The sudden urge to claim her rose - hotter than the blood in his veins - and he had to clench his jaw to keep himself in check. But he could not stop himself from nosing the curve of her neck, inhaling deeply as a low growl rumbled in his chest. More animals than Khrall. His loin stirred to life, which he was aware she felt, and his desire grew more potent at the strangled gasp that passed her lips.
It's uncommon for anybody to evoke such a reaction from him, and never had it come from somebody he scarcely knew and as youthful as the lady concerned.
He sighed deeply and groaned at the images that played in his mind of what had happened a while ago.
How could he forget the heat from their body contact as he carried her?
