Chapter 24. Mixed Feelings
Even though the morning sun had already touched her moist skin, her mind was still floating, engrossed in another realm of space and time. Her weary muscles from her nightmare experience, during which she sprinted obstinately through the forest to save her life, seemed soothed by the sound of the water lapping.
She then tried to organize her hazy thoughts. Her eyes were also fixed on her best buddy and Aleksander while conversing. They were around her as she sat on the long beach chair with a big umbrella as they stood by the bayside.
She still couldn't believe the fate she had chosen until that point, even if they had agreed to have a church wedding two days prior. Her father insisted on it even though he knew the bridegroom was an alien.
