Chapter 69. The Pedestal

Despite the flashing camera in getting the coverage in the said gathering, it was only simple for Izabella because his hand holding her gave her the courage to smile at everybody they passed by.

Izabella caught Karylla's gaze on Aleksander's firm hold on her hand while they were just a few steps away from Brigitte and close to the building's door. Looking at her face, she could make out the woman's deep pain.

As Izabella became aware that the woman cherished her princely husband, her chest began to constrict.

Izabella was shocked when Jeremy approached her and was immediately engulfed in the man's arms. His stepbrother hugged her tightly, and she could feel it.

Jeremy murmured to her, "You look so fabulous." Sweetie, I'm very proud of you.

She looked up, grinning, and their eyes connected. "Thank you, Jerry," she replied. She then noticed the melancholy hiding behind the grin in his eyes. And when his eyes slid to her lips, she then realized something.
