Mark did not even flinch, and that slap was like foreplay to him; in response, he growled low, his eyes now that golden hue signaling his wolf was out, grabbed her, wrapped her in his arms, and captured her lips again.

The effects of the low growl from deep within her mate sent a divine sensation straight to her core. For a second, Taisiya thought, what if she were to lose herself in this moment, even if it would only be for a brief one.
