“I knew it! I had been wondering why your face looks familiar, that rosy hair, gray eyes, and…” She pauses, then turns to her warriors. “Lower your damn weapons, will you?” she commands. That is when I realize they have been pointing their weapons at me all this while. I scoff.
“You are her daughter, aren’t you?” Edna continues her inquiry with narrowed eyes but I choose to remain mute. ”Oh, the one who wreaked havoc at the Ivory Hall?” she presses on. “I was there! I was standing guard by the door. I was the one who seized your weapons before you gained entrance, remember?”
I steady my stern gaze at her, swallowing my pain, which keeps growing by the minute. “If so, then you must know how horrendous it will be for you and your girls when I unsheathe my sword again.” My voice assumes a cold edge.
