Chapter 33. Linda’s Emotional Journey

As I drive away from Mitch’s house, I do not make any attempt to wipe away the trail that the tears left on my face. I just drive in silence with the windows rolled down.
What was the point of even going over to his place? He’s not going to change his mind!
He claims that he loves me, but if he truly did, he wouldn’t have been forcing me to be with him.
It does not take long for me to reach home. I park the car right in front of the house, and I get down. I sniffle and then use the back of my hand to wipe my face.
I walk toward the front door and make no attempt to knock, I just open it and walk in.
My family is in the living room, and from the look on my dad’s face, it seems like he knows that I failed. I did not convince Mitch to stop this blackmail shit.
