Chapter 100. The Wedding Promise

Emily’s Pov

Gently, I disentangle her fingers from around my arm and blow a kiss in her direction as I'm already near the door of her room.

"Goodnight, Amy," I declare at last and notice Amy sticking her tongue out at me.

"Goodnight, you brat," Amy responds with fake annoyance in her voice.

Amy's house isn't far from mine, so I don't go straight home. I weave through the houses until I reach the garden we have near the forest. The night is calm, cold, and full of life at the same time.

My thoughts are a whirlwind inside my head. The stars in the sky seem few compared to my thoughts. Lily growls inside me, not as a warning or anger, but out of nervousness, understanding. She also feels the weight that tomorrow's day means.
