Xerina’s POV
Another week passed just like that. No lead leading anywhere. Even though I persuaded Aura to mention something of sorts related to whatever he knew, all I met was his pissed-off face and strange sensations.
To make it worse, I didn’t dare to ask anything from my father. Though he loved me dearly and I was his little princess, I hated that he was so overprotective of me. Well, every male in my house was. If I even whispered about the Mark of Slavery, I knew he would just summon me back and lock me in the pack house to protect me. And Mama wouldn’t be able to save me.
