My back collided with the rough wall.
The warmth of the restaurant was replaced with his cold alley.
And then, in a rush, he fisted my blouse.
The darkness was absolute, but within it, I found a twisted kind of peace.
Piece by piece, I fell apart in his arms, knowing that as long as he held me, I could face everything.
The storm inside me didn’t seem to calm, and for the first time in what felt like an eternity, I allowed myself to truly feel.

To be vulnerable.
