Xerina’s POV

I shook my head, feeling overwhelmed. Didn’t every wolf have super sensitive hearing, speed, and strength? Why did he have to lay it out like I was any special? I couldn’t even shift to save my freaking life.

“But that’s not the case, isn’t it? You, of all shifters, are superior to all of us?” I mumbled, feeling strange sensations in my chest. Rasmus’s eyes twitched for a second before he let out a sigh and leaned back on the chair, crossing his arms across his wide chest and tilting his head.

A hint of a smile teased his lips. “Why do you think that, little wolf?”

Why shouldn’t I? When he was to be crowned as Alpha of Alphas in a few days. After my papa, he was the one I deemed powerful enough to save us. Rasmus was a strong wolf; there was something about him that was unsettling during training, and yet he had the charisma of a leader.
