Chapter 38. Rogers
Third-Person POV
“The awakening has started, Master. Do you want us to send our warriors—”
A loud clatter cut him off, and he felt his master’s anger like an icy force in the room. The silver-haired man rose from his seat, eyes burning with a fierce intensity.
“Send no one,” he growled, his voice low and menacing. “The awakening must unfold as it is planned. Meddling now would ruin everything.”
The subordinate swallowed hard, nodding obediently. “As you command, Master.”
The silver-haired man paced the room, grabbing another glass of wine. “Prepare your wolves. And send some to keep their eyes on the girl.”
“But Master,” the subordinate hesitated, “the Bounds—”
The man whirled around and slammed the glass on the ground till the pieces of broken glass pierced the face of the subordinate, but he didn’t flinch. “Do you question my judgment, you foolish wolf?”
