Rasmus’s POV
“Alpha, the preparations are made.”
I looked up from the beaten-up wolf under me and found Eren with his head lowered in a bow.
I clenched my fists and nodded, dismissing him. The endless black hole threatened to consume me whole.
For the past twenty-two years at the training grounds, fighting to be an Alpha of Alphas, I had buried my darkness deep within the fractured depths of my mind.
Living, training, and battling alongside Xerxes had slowly thawed the ice encasing my soul. His imposing, steady presence had lent me the strength to fend off my inner demons. With him, I had painstakingly reconstructed my shattered consciousness piece by blackened piece.
Now, all my hard-won stability was crumbling.
Since the incident, I have felt nothing but disgust and revulsion towards women, except Katarina, who was a mother figure to me, and her equally provoking yet beautiful daughter, who was supposed to be my mate and destruction
