Xerina’s POV

I slowly drifted back to consciousness.

My body was feverish. I could feel it in my bones.

Blur.

Everything was unclear.

My head felt heavy, and a dull ache throbbed through my limbs.

Like burning heat inside. My skin felt hot, and my heart raced. There was some kind of restlessness.

Blinking my eyes open, I saw Chrissy sitting by my bedside with her face etched in worry and concern. The poor girl was once again at my aid.

“I am fine, Chrissy,” I sighed, attempting to sit up.

She glared at me and placed a tray on the bedside. “No, you’re not. If you don’t eat this up, I’ll beat your ass.”
